She referenced this blog: http://www.nieniedialogues.blogspot.com. Now I had seen the cute little boxes on some of my friends' blogs that say "I read Nie Nie." I never thought much about it, but it was referring to this cool blog. So I decided to check out the blog before the Oprah show. It was amazing! Basically, this couple were in a plane crash last year, which left her with burns over 80% of her body. (I think that is the right percentage) She was in a coma for some time and they were not sure if she was going to make it. And despite the horrific tragedy that has occured in their life, she is amazingly optimistic and is just happy to have the chance to raise her family! I was so touched!
At the time, I had been feeling a little sorry for myself. Now don't laugh but it was because the marathon photographers snapped some not so flattering pics of me. You know, the ones with the awkward looks on my face or my body doing weird contortions as I ran. Pretty silly and vain, right? At that moment, I thought wow Heather you are upset over something so silly, get over yourself and be grateful that you were even able to run the marathon. This awesome girl can't even pick up her children after they get out of the tub!
Needless to say, it was an awesome moment for me. I have decided to simply be grateful for the little things in my life and enjoy the little moments. So I immediately put down my anatomy book, scooped up the girls and went outside to enjoy the beautiful fall day with my beauties. Thank you Nie Nie for putting life back into perspective. You are truly an inspiration. And all you bloggers, go check out her blog and watch her clip on http://www.oprah.com/.
And knowing us, of course, we took pictures as we played outside:
After all 70 degrees is freezing for us phoenicians.
Notice the cute braids their cousins did while they
were staying at their house this weekend.
It's so awesome to love our cousins!

I've read Nie for awhile now. Josh and I watched Oprah today (we DVR'd it) and it really was touching. Made me want to hug and kiss my little girlies!
We are loving this weather. I bought Sydney some sidewalk chalk and it is now all over my backyard (and her clothes, and nanners face!) You know your girls just wanted an excuse to wear their cute jackets! Haha! My girls have been playing outside non stop this week. I hope it lasts!!
P.S. You are totally awesome for doing your marathon. I am really proud of you! Don't be down about yourself. If you are, just think of me sitting in my house eating two cinnamon rolls (which I totally did yesterday) and getting fat. You have worked really hard with your running and I think that is a BIG accomplishment! Aren't I such a good friend? Why don't you want to hang out with me more??? ;)
I love this post! I am so glad I have introduced you to the NieNie! Words cannot describe the inspiration she is.
Before you know it, you will be vacuuming with red lipstick and high heels!
