We just got back from a trip to Disneyland this past week. We had so much fun! This time we were able to stay a little bit longer and enjoy the park for two days. Yippee!! I think this time we went on more rides than we have ever been on before. It was nice because no one was at the park, which meant no lines. We were complaining on one ride that was taking 20 minutes that it was way too long. I think we were a little spoiled because usually at Disneyland, 20 minutes is nothing.
We have discovered that my girls just love roller coasters. Harly's favorite ride was splash mountain and Jadyn's was the screamining Californian. (I think that is what is called-you know the one that has the big loopty loop in it) They are really at a fun age right now and can really enjoy everything about the park. Harly's dream came true on this trip. Her absolute favorite princess is Aurora. And guess what, she was able to meet her. Yippee!!! She was so excited to talk to her, it was way cute!
We thought that we almost weren't going to make it. On Saturday when we were driving out there, we were speeding along the 91 about 20 miles from Disneyland, when noticed the smoke and red stuff on the mountain in front of us. Yep, we were driving right toward the fires. Which meant that the freeway was being shut down. It was crazy how close they were. I tried to take some pics of it, they didnt quite turn out, but I will try to post them anyways. So we had to try to make our way around the burning mountain, which added an additional hour and a half to our trip. But we made it, thank goodness. Jadyn was a little nervous, she kept asking if the fire could get us. We kept reassuring her that we would be OK. And Harly just slept through the entire experience. When we drove home, the fires were all contained. But it was said to see the charred hills and building. You could see that it was literally on both sides of the 91 freeway. Scary....
Our good friends, the Petersons, came with us on the trip. Which was super fun! The kids had a blast with them! (Thanks guys, when can we plan our next trip?)
One of the super fun things that we did, was breakfast with Minnie and friends. We got to have breakfast in the park, with Minnie and a bunch of disney characters. The kids loved it! It was nice because they all come to your table to say hello and take pics. I would highly recommend this to everyone!
This time, we stayed at the Paradise Pier hotel. Which is part of the disneyland hotels. It was awesome! They had this really cool water slide, that Jadyn loved! (if you will notice, she has a huge scab on her face. She was so excited and was running a little quick up the stairs to the slide and slipped and fell. But that didnt stop her at all, she kept going and going down that slide. What a tough cookie!) It was was nice being right there at the disneyland park. We could just leisurely walk across anytime we want. They also had a super cool movie room for kids to watch cartoons. And a little arcade, which Jon and the girls had fun playing in.
We had so much fun. We are now trying to get back into real life. Which is a bit hard. Jadyn barely woke up in time for school yesterday, she got up at 8:30 and school starts at 9. Whew, that was close. Thank goodness, tomorrow is the weekend. We need it to recuperate. We love Disneyland!!!!
